Fundus Autofluorescence - Clinical Report available A recent clinical report provides technical and clinical information about this non-invasive technology. The FAF image provides a 45-degree retinal view of the "wellbeing of the retinal pigment epithelium". FAF imaging can be helpful with the early diagnosis of vision threatening disease in addition to the staging and prediction of disease progression based on the hyper/hypo fluorescence FAF patterns. FAF imaging provides a supplement to color fundus photography. In some clinical cases, "abnormality on the FAF image" is found where the color photo does "not" show abnormality.
