Fundus Autofluorescence - Clinical Report
A recent clinical report provides technical and clinical information about this non-invasive technology. The FAF image provides a 45-degree retinal view of the "wellbeing of the retinal pigment epithelium".
FAF imaging provides a supplement to color fundus photography. In some clinical cases, "abnormality on the FAF image" is found where the color photo does "not" show abnormality.
The report discusses the principles of FAF imaging with clinical examples of Normal, AMD, Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma and Nevus/Tumor with side by side image comparison of both Color and FAF images.
